Bethlehem

Bethlehem is a must-see for anyone visiting Jerusalem, as the towns neighbor each other.  The problem is the wall that separates the two.  It was a very intense experience: think airport security with armed military guards and chaos carried out in another language. Getting through the checkpoint wasn't a big deal for me and my European colleagues after a show of our passport and detailed metal detector screening. But our Israeli guide waved goodbye as he wasn't allowed to cross.

The reason for our visit was to see the birthplace of Jesus held within the Church of the Nativity.

This is the exact birthspot marked with this 14-point star
