Living on a Barge

Went flat hunting again this weekend. There still isn't much out there and what is available is either tiny,  gross, in a bad area,  completely furnished or some combination of those. It looks like my best option is to proceed with one I saw last week which was pretty nice, a step above tiny, semi-furnished and is in Notting Hill. I was initially hesitant for two reasons: 1. The landlord refuses to remove the couch and bed so I'll be forced to sell some furniture. 2.  It's not available until December 3rd.  Regardless, at this point it appears to be my best option. Now let's just hope it hasn't already been scooped up by someone else. If so, I'm back to square one.

Assuming this does work out, I'll need to find more temporary housing to get me through the month of November. The cheapest way to get by is to rent a room in someone else's apartment. I've been looking around online and finding some options that look viable. I plan to narrow down the list to a few and then go check out the space and meet the roommate(s).

Check out this ad - it's the best short term rental ad I've come across, posted on Gumtree.co.uk (exact same as craigslist):

Good size room available on large friendly dutch barge.
Sharing with two others, a fella graphic designer and lady camera assistant (and two Boat Rabbits)
        120 GBP per week

To be clear...they're offering a room on a BARGE which you'll be sharing with two humans and two RABBITS!  I do have to admit, the price of $827 per month (when converted to US dollars) is a bargain though. No, I'm not kidding.
